The Croatan church of Christ began meeting together in September of 2001. We were about 35 strong back then. In September of 2011, we moved into our building at 4115 Old Cherry Point Rd, in the James City area of New Bern, NC. We had 83 at our first service that September of 2011. We hope you enjoy your visit with us, and you will return as often as you can.
We are here to worship God in spirit and in truth. Glorifying God is our aim. We will gladly provide scriptures for all that we do and teach. We worship God as He has directed us, not according to personal desires. That may not appeal to all, but this is God's business. We cannot afford to please man over God. (Galatians 1:10)
God's process for becoming a Christian and entering a saved relationship with Christ, is also specified and clearly presented in the Bible. Several examples are given in the book of Acts. All converts in the 1st century were first presented teaching from the Word of God, which produces faith in a good and honest heart (Romans 10:17). Those confessing their faith in Jesus as the Christ and expressing their desire to become disciples were then commanded to repent and be baptized for the remission of their sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16). At baptism, their sins were washed away, and their new walk in Christ began (Romans 6:4). They also sought growth in Christ, feeding upon His word, and developing in Him. We encourage you to follow this New Testament pattern to be the person God wants you to be - a Christian. We also invite you to worship, learn, and develop spiritually with all of us.
We look forward to the encouragement of your visit.
